Fort Belvoir VA
January 25, 2002
Well,
as I try and see where I'll land over the next few weeks, I'll working at
different places all over Ft. Belvoir.
So far I've worked at the Motor Pool, which as I said before
was great. A lot easier to get a seat on the bus when you can get on it before
everyone else. Myself & Pvt. Payne earned a Ft. Belvoir Garrison
Commander's Coin for doing a good job washing a car.
I've spent an afternoon at the Military Police Stations, a
bit interesting, seeing how the MPs work. I helped rearrange a trailer that has
all the equipment for the yearly Youth Bike Rodeo.Worked at the Chapel, pretty
much answering phones & taking messages. The place is just to damned
quiet!
Martin Luther King Day Weekend. I did see two good movies.
1.) Orange County: For once a movie
underrated, simple plot, but it does a moral. And plus it has Harold Ramis in
it, can't go wrong with that!
Rating: 3 out of 5.
2.) Snow Dogs: Cuba Gooding Jr. in a
feel good movie about a dentist who discovers he's adopted, finds his real
father, and learns how to race dogs sleds. (E-mail me if you have the name of
the sport!)
Rating: 4 out of 5.
Well that's all for this week.
Catch ya on the other side.
Sincerely
Pvt. Fred Ortiz
PS. My thoughts go out to
all the Marines that was
just sent to Cuba to guard the prisoners, may nothing
go wrong between now & when they return.
PPS. Congratulations to ROD PIAZZA & the MIGHTY FLYERS on the 6 nominations for HANDY AWARDS
