Ecto Fantasy, Part 1
Okay, let's take care of business first. The
Ghostbusters characters are not mine, and this story
is inspired by one of the greatest RPGs of all time, Squaresoft's 'Chrono Cross'. Takes place after "The
Trial." -

"EDUARDO!"
Eduardo Rivera banged his head on the roof of the
Ecto-1. After rubbing his head, he looked at the one
who yelled his name.
"Jeez, chica, why'd ya do that for?"
Kylie Griffin smiled. "Not my fault that you fell
asleep... AGAIN."
Eduardo shook his head. He knew she was right. The
Ghostbusters have been on the road for several hours,
ever since Egon Spengler called. Kylie leaned over the
front seat.
"What do you think this could be about?"
Kevin Shamrock, the newest Ghostbuster, looked up, a
bit startled for a second.
"Don't know, from what I could guess from the
information he sent us, it could be a gateway."
"You say that like it really is a bad thing," said
Roland Jackson, who was driving.
"Well if it's like the one that sent the
Original GBs
to Boo York back in the mid 80s, we're in trouble. If
it leads to the nether world, we're in trouble. If..."
Eduardo cut him off. "All right we get the point!" He
leaned back in his seat. "You're just as bad as
Kylie..."
Kylie gave him one of her looks, but went on with the
conversation.
"Any which way, this could be interesting. This thing
could be a dimensional rip," said Kylie.
"Like the one that happened during that Snookums
incident?" asked Roland.
"Almost, it could lead into a parallel universe."
"Hey man, this sounds like a bad episode of..."
started Eduardo, before being cut off.
"Hey Roland, here's the turn off," said Kevin.

Egon Spengler was slightly disturbed. He Looked over
several charts, a computer screen and several other
items.
"This is bad," he mumbled.
He walked over to a window that looked out over the
Front Parking lot. He saw the Ecto-1, with the
Ghostbusters piling out. He knew them all. Eduardo,
Roland, Kylie, but then he saw the one he didn't know.
Egon shook it off, grabbed a lab coat, and went out to
great them.

Roland looked at the building known as Spengler Labs
in amazement.
"Imagine all the discoveries he may have made the past
few years," he said.
"Imagine the explosions he caused the last few
years," added Eduardo.
"Okay, let's take of this thing and go home," said
Kevin.
"It won't be that easy," said a voice from the
entrance of the building. The Ghostbusters all looked
to see that it was Egon, with almost a smile on his
face.
"Nice to see you all again," said Egon. "But this
situation is serious, please follow me to my office."

Egon's office was a very relaxing setting. Books lined
the walls, a large wooden desk, comfortable chairs,
etc. After looking around they got to the matter at hand.
"So what's the story of this gateway?" asked Kevin.
"The story is that I don't know," replied Egon. "It
appeared suddenly, and PKE readings have been off the
scale."
"What could have caused it?" asked Roland.
"That's a big question," replied Egon. "Any number of
things could've caused it to open."
"Such as a spell, ancient prophecy, a contract being
broken..." added Kylie.
"So we gotta close this thing?" asked Eduardo.
"Make that things," said Egon.
"Yo, run that by me again, did you say 'things'?"
asked Kevin.
"Yes, there are several more all over the world. Major
reports have been in New York, California, Australia,
Russia and Ireland."
"And that's just reported, this ain't good," said
Roland.
"I know, that's why I need to make a call."
"Who ya gonna..." started Eduardo, before everyone
gave a 'don't say it' look. "Sorry."
